This summer, get ready to participate in Pakistan’s largest Robotics contest – the 17th edition of National Engineering Robotics Contest (NERC) in July 2019, brought to you by Department of Mechatronics Engineering at NUST College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (CEME). NERC is a joint venture of NUST, HEC STEM Careers Programme and Pakistan Science Foundation, to promote research in Robotics and related fields in Pakistan. NERC provides a platform for integration and evaluation of mechanical/electronic designs, control/ path planning algorithms and agent architectures indigenously developed by Pakistani students. The purpose is to inculcate in the youth, understanding about how technology can be used to solve problems as well as about exercising ingenuity in Robotics and technical design to create solutions.
This year, the focus of NERC is to create an autonomous robot that can simulate kitchen recycling. Contestants from all over the country will be participating in 4 Robotics sub-events including Indigenous, Modular, Robowars and NERC Aero. A panel comprising industry professionals and academicians would be evaluating student projects.
In addition to offering a platform to compete in these categories, NERC offers workshops and a Gala dinner including student performances, musical concerts by popular bands, dramas and plays.
Event date: July 24 - 27, 2019
Venue: NUST College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (CEME), Rawalpindi
