Dr. Irfan Abid is currently serving as Head of the department for Water Resources engineering and Management, Military College of Engineering (MCE), NUST Campus Risalpur. He holds MS Water Resources Engineering and Management degree from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Msc in Environmental Design form Allama Iqbal Open University, MS in Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology USA and a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering (Water Resources) from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. Dr. Dr. Irfan has more than 19 years of work experience in various disciplines of Civil Engineering. Besides academic experience and teaching, it  includes design and consultancy of water supply and stream projects, road construction, OFC laying, urban infrastructure development and bridge construction. He has presented his research work at a significant number of international conferences and authored/ co-authored several peer-reviewed archival journal publications.​
