International Workshop on Neuroscience at NUST
Atta-ur-Rahman School of Applied Biosciences, NUST has organised a five-day international workshop on neuroscience in collaboration with International Brain Research Organisation Asia Pacific Regional Committee (IBRO-APRC).
Renowned scientists, clinicians and 30 participants from across the globe are attending the workshop. Pro Rector NUST Dr Asif Raza graced the occasion as chief guest and inaugurated the event by emphasising the University’s thrust to promote interdisciplinary research in all areas of science and technology.
Prof Dr Khalid Iqbal, an eminent scientist from USA, spoke on his pioneering work on involvement of the protein and its malfunction in Alzheimer’s disease.
The conference aimed to share the successes and challenges of implementing latest scientific finding in treating the neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimers and dementia.
The training sessions on the first day of the workshop focused on techniques used in brain research. The workshop will conclude on the October 4.
