He defeated Ahsan Javed (Punjb), Farhan Khan (KPK), Muhammad Ishtiaq (Sindh) and Gul Afzal (Isb) to qualify for the knockout stage. In pre-quarter-finals, Shahram defeated Hunain Amir (Punjab) by 5-1, followed by a 5-3 victory in the quarter-final against Baber Mesih. This match was considered to be the best match of the tournament, comprising 6 x 50 + breaks and a century break made by Shahram Changezi.

In the semi-finals, Shahram demonstrated his skill and defeated former World Champion Muhammad Asif by 6 - 5. In the final, however, he could not produce his best and stood runner-up in the event.
